Thumbs down Buyer Beware!

Anyone looking for GT 40P's....I would strongly urge everyone to stay away from Tri-State Cylinder head in Evansville In. I bought a set for a 302 truck project and was very disappointed.

1) The head gasket blew with less than 50 miles. They were not true and needed resurfaced.

2) while at the machine shop to be surfaced, the valve heights ranged from anywhere .025 to .045 difference. The exhaust valves were all lower. This due to improper seating. (their response was that .035 was within specs. I could not find any other machine shop to verify/justify this as .010 is the industry norm)

3) the locks were junk, period.

4) the spring pressures were not with in specs....seat pressure spec is 110/their's was 90 PSI. Open pressure is 230 spec/their's 190.

5) customer service was very much less than adequate as they pretty much said so sorry and would not return calls as promised.

If you do decide to do business with this company, please have their product checked completely thru-out by a reputable machinest to avoid any other problems.

Just FYI for everyone....don't become a mail order victim such as myself. Live and learn! Thanks.
