RR Tail light 98 expy
I know i posted earlier Tail light on RR wont come on neither will the license plate lights. Brake and blinkers work fine. has anybody seen this and have at fix. Been trying to track it down . Just another thing i hooked it up to my boat trailer thru the tow harness to see if they would work and the rr tail on the trailer works. just not on the truck.

The left license plate lamp, the right license plate lamp, and the right tail lamp all share a common path to ground.
The left tail lamp, although it shares the same ground point as the above lamps, uses a different path to get to that ground point.
And the trailer lamp has its own path to ground.
So get access to the right tail lamp socket and provide a temporary ground to see if it will then light. If it does, follow the ground wires until you find the bad spot.

Thanks thats what i have been tryng to do the wires run up in side. Its a tuff find. I put a temperary fix to it for the short time so my wife quits getting pulled over. I spiced into the tow harness this afternoon And it works fine for now. Just sick of chasing the wires down. will get back to it.when i can get it into the warm garage.Gotta fix it right.!
