I live in SW Missouri. I have talked with three different dealerships. Two say they expect priceing anytime. The other says not to expect it until July. One says they will start getting dealership ordered '04 f150's in june, the other says it will be Aug/ or Sep.. They all say that Ford will not give them a date. Nice game they are playing. I guess maybe it is because they thing they will get stuck with a bunch of '03's. I was also told that A plan and X-plan purchases may not be available-- just like they did with the new Thunderbird. Good luck!
My best guess? Use current '03 pricing and you should be VERY close. The only real question is incentives: right now, you've got $3,000 on the '03, and there have been rumors of a rebate on the '04 almost as soon as it comes out, but it's just a rumor.
I did a little investigation on my own yesterday and got a bit of a scoop from Midway Ford in Roseville, MN. Anyway, the guy I talked to had some pricing for the regular cabs and the Heritage version. According to his computer, pricing will be available on Super Cabs and Super Crews on May 1.
As well, he confirmed that as of their last meeting on the '04 that there will be some incentives available right out of the gate.
In terms of delivery, he indicated that production will begin right after the 4th of July, however, that is followed by a 2 week shutdown and then continued production. He is expecting delivery of the first '04s in late July or early August. I think SuperCrews will be a bit later and apparently there will be late delivery for those of you that want the Chrome tubular step bars. I don't know what the reason is, but I assume it is a supply chain issue.
The X plan will be available for the 2004 F150, I have written confirmation from Ford on that. In addition, two dealers also have verified. Things could change, but as it stands now it will be accepted.
The dealers that I have talked to are saying that when the new 2004s come out, there will be no rebate on them. I guess they are trying to get me to buy an 03.
One dealer told me that his ford rep. said that prices will not be released until mid-July to avoid giving GM too much advance notice.
I personally do not see how Ford can expect the mass public to buy a new Ford without a rebate, even if it is redesigned, while Chevy is still offering a rebate on their 2004s.
if you are wondering what x-plan pricing is... it is a way for ford to pass on easy purchasing below retail values to those employees who work for a company which utilizes ford vehicles for thier company fleet. it is not quite as good as a-plan but is still a good deal, i recently priced a f-150 supercrew lariat 4x4 retailing at $36, 600. with the x-plan pricing it was $32, 550. this is a non -negotiated rate that applies at participating ford dealers only. for more info check out.
im looking to trade my wifes tahoe on a new 150. the dealer i checked with said june. But he also said i would save about 5000 on an 03 model, sucks because i want the new one. When i bought my superduty w/x-plan it was 4% over invoice.
