I have also have noticed cities, water and gas companies buying V10's and the new 6.2 gas engines.
Fleets are running the numbers and now see the V10 as a cost effective alternative to the diesels. Something that only started changing back about 5 years ago. New diesels are not as cost efficient as they were 10 years ago.
10 years ago diesel fuel was the cheapest fuel at truck stops. Even 3 years ago fuel was less than $2 a gallon. We went long way in last couple of years.
How much is diesel option on new Superduty?
I was at Kremer Leaf spring in St. Paul once and saw a F-550 that was towing a 6500 Kodiak flatbed by lifting the front axle of the 6500. The F550 was not left with much weight on the front :-)
Seen your post on Facebook LSchicago. You took some heat from a few people but in my opinion you did a great and safe job with situation you got put in. I always read your posts because you always have good advice on towing/hauling.
