Oil Grade QUICK!!!!!

I just bought a 2000 F250 XL 5.4 and I am on my way to town to pick up filters and such. What grade of oil should I use? I am seeing on the forums that I should use 5w-20 synthetic. Does this sound right? Thanks! Patrick

5w-20 I believe. Let me google real quick.

Ford calls for 5w-20 but I have heard that many use 5w-30. Other than that use what you want to I guess. But Ford calls for 5w-20. JOE>

tons of info on this, ford started with 5W30 in its mod motors, then for some reason that no one can give a true 100% answer too they switched to this water thin 5w20. Use a full synthetic though, your motor will thank you
