Beach Camping

Hey all! Taking a road trip from Maryland to Fort Myers, FL, and looking for a spot on the beach to camp for the night. Not looking for an official camp site, just somewhere I can pitch a tent and sleep for the night. I'll have a dog also...I have been searching for "legal" places to camp on the beach in several different places but haven't been lucky. I actually want to avoid camp sites, I think paying to sleep on the beach is a little ridiculous. An open fire would be a plus.

Also, if anyone needs a delivery to or from the destinations you are close to I-95, just let me know!

Thanks!
