How much to fix?

This IS NOT my truck. It is for sale and I am wondering how much you think it will take to fix it.

I can see the obvious stuff like a hood, right and left fenders, a new front clip, but what do you think of the engine compartment? A new radiator support?
I am most likely ordering either used or from LMC. Tell me what you think.

without seeing in person, it is really hard to say.
but rite off the bat i can say complete nose, with possible engine and trans damage.
then you most likely have frame damage that needs repaired too. and i bet the doors are pushed, and the roof is kinked.

unless you get it for free, i would walk away from it.

IT runs and drives the guy said. It just looks to be damaged up front. it is hard to tell by the pictures but the doors and cab look alright. I don't know if I'm looking at it through rose colored glasses, but....

Total loss.

At a shop, at least $5000+.

My Audi had less damage, and of course, the parts are a bit more than for a Ranger, but they quit counting at $11,000.

If you like a challenge, go ahead, but I would not pay more than a scrap price for it.

at auction i would expect it to go for around $3000-$4000, and get loaded in a container to go to the middle east to be cut up for parts.
the Arab countries are buying everything they can get their hands on these days.

like that.
total piles of rusted mess from fire jobs are going for ridiculous prices because china and india can not get enough raw material to feed their expanding steel industries and are buying anything a magnet sticks too.

What do you think the truck is worth fixed up? I can get used parts (from what I can see in the picture) for no more than 2000.00 (everything including misc things). Although, I don't know the condition of the motor and trans. It is 9 hours away -_-.

Just walk away and save your money for something that doesn't need so much work. Believe me, when a vehicle has that much damage, it is never right again. By the time you invest time and money in that, you could've bought one that didn't need work.

Yea, looks like the wheels are pointing in different directions too...a crack in the rack adds $500.....

Are the air bags popped? Add $700 per....

Millions served, you can find a nice one and drive today instead of laying awake at night wondering about this pile for a couple months.....

Personally I would think about the frame and suspension before making a decision. With that kind of damage there has to be considerable distortion in the skeleton.

Still a lotta good parts on that thing, you know. Ranger pieces sell for a pretty penny.

clean trade in is around $6000.
with a salvage title around $3000 fixed.
with all parts given to you free that is going to cost around $4000 and $5000 in labor costs to fix

I've bought projects like that where the engine or tranny is blown. I'm not scared of that. But when you involve something that has a permanent blem on the title, IMO, it's time to walk. The possible exception would be if you do body shop work in your spare time.

Hey now, VIN numbers are a "sheetmetal" part too and can be sourced just as easily as fenders and headlights if you know where to look.
