Just the other day I noticed my power steering acting a little funny. The slower I go, the turning of the wheel gets harder almost to point of not being able to control it. It feels notchy. I am in no way a mechanic and I immediately checked the fluid level and it may have been a little low, but not enough I dont think to make a difference. Probably I put in 2 oz. max. What are some things that I can do to troubleshoot the problem and could air in the system cause this to happen. Is it like air in brake lines?
My truck is still under warranty but I am wondering if its something that may be real simple to fix without taking my truck into the shop.

Some early SuperDuty trucks had this recurring problem and the factory fix is a new type lower ball joint... there is a TSB on this problem and a set of instructions to detect it, correct it.
