I have a 2003, F-150 with the 6 disk in dash CD changer. The reception is terrible. It cuts in and out. I called the dealer and they acted like it has been an ongoing problem with other F-150's b/c he said they'd have to order a new radio w/out even looking at it. I brought it in and sure enough they ordered one. My brother has the same year truck and is having the same problem? Did Ford have a bad batch of radios that they aren't recalling yet or something to that nature? It just seemed like they ordered the new radio awfully quick.

 

Update: Ford said they were having a problem with the stereos getting too hot and burning up, that's why reception was bad. Apparently they refined the radios so they will not heat up as much.
