Has anyone had their valvle covers not clear the roller rockers and billet spacers? Mine hit the baffle for the oil fill. They are the 4" tall the entire length. Are there some other ones that I could buy that have more clearance?
There are some heavy cast aluminum "Cobra Lemans" covers available from Ford Motorsport; Jegs and Summit both have them. They're not cheap ($160) but the quality is good and they are tall enough to clear the roller rockers. There may be others.
I should mention that even with the Cobra valve covers I still had to grind on them a little bit to clear the end stands because the walls are so thick; I don't know if you have the end stands or not.
I'm running the Dove roller set-up with ARP studs and the Cobra valve covers fit except for the end stands. The covers are plenty tall enough but the ID is a bit smaller than a stamped steel cover. Ten minutes with a die grinder solved that problem (the walls are about 1/4" thick!) and they look sweet on top of my E-bock heads and manifold.

Just to be sure, you are using the Dove end stands as well? Precision Pumps also makes a set and that is what I am using. I believe the difference is that your end stands taper to a point at the top. Check out my gallery if you want as I have pics of the setup I'm using. I don't think I'll be able to use that valve cover either.
The edelbrocks didn't work so I guess I'll try the Milodon's. I'll let ya know. I would have loved to have used the Cobra's. They really look sharp.
I'm familiar with Precision Pumps; I bought my oil pump and some ARP hardware from them. Looking at your setup all mounted I would say that the Cobra valve covers will fit no problem. The Dove end stands actually encompass the end of the rocker shaft so they stick out quite a bit more than the PP stands. I don't have a picture handy but you can go to www.gessford.com/cobraparts to see what I'm talking about. It was the very end of the stand hitting the valve cover that was the problem, not the height. To be sure, order both the Cobra and Miloden valve covers and return the Cobras if they don't fit and the Milodens if the Cobras do fit; you'll lose a little postage but it might be worth the risk.
I think the problem I'm having are the oil baffold (sp?) is hitting a rocker spacer as only the side with the oil inlet won't sit on the head/intake. I wish I had just used some clay to see where it is hitting.
Thanks for the advice. Those Shelby roller rockers are something else. Not sure I would gain anything from their setup and what I am using. And their close to $500 more but man they are sweet.
My covers hit in the same spot. I took a plasma cutter and sliced the baffle down the middle and folded them over each other so the oil spray will not come out and I can still add oil but I had to convince it with a dead blow hammer. Be careful so you dont tweak the cover or scratch the chrome. Plasma cutter worked best as it doesnt generate alot of heat.

Well the COBRA valve covers came in and as you said, they fit fine. The baffel (sp?) sits much higher and is much longer than the stock covers. I love them. They are exactly the touch I was looking for. Check out my gallery to see pics.
Thanks!! I really hope it runs well too. I just need to get the clutch and then pop it in the engine bay. Still need to clean up the engine bay first but other than the ss hoses and water pump, I'm pretty much there.
