Mercon Synthetic
Does anyone make a "Mercon rated Synthetic" that is not dual rated "Mercon 5 synthetic" for our earlier trannys? According to Mark K. from an earlier post we aren't supposed to use dual rated fluids.

Mark is correct (as always). Not to speak out of turn, but he wrote before that he uses Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF in his tow vehicle. On Mobil's site, they specifically indicate that this fluid has Ford Mercon builder approval, and have no mention of Mercon V (which would indicate that it is not dual-rated). Furthermore, Mark uses it. If it's good enough for Mark K., it's good enough for us!

Just my .02 but when I purchased my Mag-Hytec pan, I also purchased my oil from Mag-Hytec. I used the oil that they recommended which is also a Ford Spec. It is called Lubricating Engineers LE1107.Maybe they are on the net?
