Anyone able to tell me what size bolt is used on lower coil spring retainer? Dont own a larger set of wrenches and not really interested in purchasing a set would rather just buy the size i need..... thanks in advance
Yeah its all been no damn fun so far after working/drivibg all day try 2 autoparts places to rent spring compressors and no dice! So project starts saturday morning now ohwell not like its warm enough to load the layaks and head to the lake yet amyways.....whats another day at this point
Well try getting some pictures first to show your work like a good student and pictures of problem areas for future reference. Who needs a spring compressor just hook a chain on it and to the back of another vehicle and tell them to drive away problem solved. Good Luck!
Thats not a bad idea i should hook my ram to it but my luck it would end up lookibg like in the movies and the ram would take the entire front clip! Haha btw sorry sometimes i mispell and sont use punctuation i only use the mobile version and my fingers are too damn fat for my droids keyboard.
Oh ya i know the feeling, using the droid keyboard is not easy. I don't have internet on mine unless i am near Wi-Fi and thats usually when i am near my laptop...
No doubt i actually got rid of my home internet laptop and desktop after gwtting a printer with bluetooth i literally use my phone for everything internet related
Finally done coil springs all of 45 minutes to replace...raised front end about 1.5"s had to install a pair if airshocks in the rear to raise the *** back up.... it was that or 2" blocks! Btw the official aswer to the original question is a 1-1/8" nut for the coil spring. Suspension is officially done. Next up rear brakes including hard lines....
Thats good to know fro when i do suspension on my pig. I will probably do 4" lift springs and blocks with possible Bilstein shocks or something... Those are expensive so i may go with cheaper ones.
Yeah while it was torn down i was looking around. I think i the future i may switch the frame coil/shock mounts out and change to the dual shock towers i noticed even though i have single tops the stud for the lower shock mount is in place.. must be on all/ some models even w/o the dual shock frame mounts. Gonna look through the forum now. What is the benefits of using the explorer fuel injectors? Is it a straight replacement
I have the quad shock system on my 78, and it was pretty stiff. I took the 2 radius arm ones off but i still have the mounts on there incase i put new ones in.
