I need to replace the running boards on my 05 EB 6.0 PSD X. I'm not interested in going back to factory. I didn't like the way they looked and they are a ton of money from the "stealership". The truck looks great without the boards (I think anyway) and I would like to keep them off. However, as I advance in years and have trouble climbing steps let alone jumping up into the truck I am in need of running boards. And it would make the wife happy too.
A little info; the truck is not lifted but I'm running 305's on 17's so it does bring it up a little higher. I checked out some Amp Power steps but by the time you get them installed, it's just too much money.
Any suggestions and picks would be greatly appreciated.
From the sounds of what your looking for the amp research step would be perfect for you! Maybe wait a little and save for it...
I had seen them installed on a local Ex here about a year ago, they are on my future mod list... When retracted they make a stock ex look higher for sure.
Those looks really good! Is your X lifted at all? Also, how long did it take to get your Iron Cross steps in? I ordered mine about 3 weeks ago and have not recieved them yet. Now that I've seen what they are going to look like I can't wait to get them on!
It is only lifted with the V/Moded B code Springs. It took 10 days to ship then I got them in another 3 days. I am happy with them but they could have been a little better design they are not completly boxed like I had thought and I have to paint the mounting bolts that show I was hoping they were going to be right up next to the door but the top of the running board is at the bottom of the body pinch weld.
I can kind of see what you mean about them not being next to the door. They still look good. I asked about the lift because mine is not. I'm running 305s and I was getting a litte rubbing up front. I took a heat gun to the plastic wheel wells and that solved the problem. the bigger tires along w/the removal of the factory boards gives it a lifted look. I'm hoping to keep the same look once I get the new Iron Cross HD's on. I will post some pics when it's done.
Also, what's your source for your tow mirrows? At they power?
Thanks
