Yea my 97 F250 7.3 will turn over but will not fire, and all the while it turns over it spewing oil all over any ideas? I think high pressure pump but looking for second opinions
Where's the leak exactly? On top of the engine, driver or passenger side, rear or front? Have you replaced the hpop recently? Not firing means lack of icp which is caused by your oil leak which i assume could guess. It could be a fitting on your hpop or a hpop line than is broken, leaking out a lot oil. You will need to clean the oil up, then have a second person turning over the truck while you look for the leak.
Just a word of caution, don't look (feel) around for the leak with your hand. A high pressure stream of oil can cut like aknife and leaves a really nasty path to recovery. The oil kills the tissue it penetrates. Not to sound like the alarmist, just be careful. The best way to look for a leak if you can't see it is to use a piece of cardboard or an index card or something like that. Just don't use your hand....

Got word from who? Did the back plate fall out and then you tried to crank it which spilled all the guts in the valley, or do you just have a leaking $3.00 o-ring and the mechanic simply doesn't know any better?
Yea, got word its the snap ring or something on the high pressure pump and the whole thing needs to be replaced.
Who said this? Did you have a mechanic look at it? If you have a stock pump this is very very unlikely and hes trying to rip you off. If this is an after market one it should have a warranty one it and you should send it make to the maker and have it fixed. And Chris might be right it could be something as simple as an o-ring or hose.
