Just picked up an 08 f250 6.4. Just wondering what everyone is using for tuners. I want with the option to turn the dpf and egr delete on and off, not ready to take them out yet but if they ever give me problems I will and I don't want to buy another tuner. Not looking for crazy power gains either. Thanks for any opinions.

If you aren't really looking for any power gains, then what's the point of buying the tuner? For most folks, the whole point of the tuner is to get rid of the dpf system. Waiting till they "give you problems" might turn out to be waiting too long.
H&S & Spartan have "DPF On" tunes as well as Delete tunes. However, I don't think I could recommend the DPF On tunes for either manufacturer. I believe you'll shorten the life of the DPF and most likely cause more frequent regens from soot build up. More Regens = BAD.

I am not sure but if I remember well Spartan was indicating that the DPF ON tunes were less "soot" creators then the standard Ford program. Will need to verify with them

Increased regens. No mileage gain. More fuel dilution. No bueno!
I do not think that regents between 300 and +600 miles with the DPF on tunes is increasing the frequency.. Read all the treads. Any way, will need to talk with the tech people at spartan to know exactly the % of soot vs Ford. For me the frequency of regens depend on each truck and driver (right foot).
Here's a Spartan Tech recommending NOT to run DPF On tunes for a lengthy period of time. If he's recommending not to do it for a long period of time, why would one think it's ok for a short period. Or why would you only want to do it for a short period other than not having the time to remove the DPF right away.

Jeff is NOT a tech. Questions need to be asked to Mick. Jeff is very helpful if you have issues, he will help to resolve the issue. He has a lot of experience with the power tunes. When reading the posts in this link I understand he is saying that driving with the DPF is not healthy for our trucks, I fully agree with him...
hey, i don't mean to hijack your thread but i have a question about programmers too. I have a new edge cts on my '08, my question is, I want to do an egr delete. will the edge deal with it and is there a better programmer out there? I've been thinking of selling the edge for a spartan but then i need all the new gauges. and i live in canada but my truck is in mph. so i use the edge for the speed in kph. so if i stack a programmer, how do i go about doing that?
