new to this site, looks great. anyways can someone tell me who makes a tri-y header for a 351m in a 1980 4x4 f-150 if anyone. any information is good and thanks
On most vehicles, you do not have a choice in the type of header you can buy, there is just no demand for them. They only made the 351m/400 for 2 or 3 years in these trucks, so that limits the demand even more. I doubt a equal length vs a tri-y would make any noticeable difference anyway.

I wouldn't count on it. I tried to match up a 70s header to my 400 but the bends & contours wouldn't let me get it all the way up to the head.
i have a hot rod mag article that states tri-y headers produce more torque than equal length headers and even massaged manifolds might be better. torque rules
The sooner you realize the magazines are out to make money from advertising, the better off you will be. They will say anything to support a advertiser in their magazine. And most of that hot rod stuff doesn't make any difference on the street, especially with a heavy truck.
But you have to figure this out for yourself, many of us have already. That's why they have swap sales at hot rod shows and swap meets. That's where everyone gets rid of everything that doesn't work, so you can figure out it doesn't work. I do not like headers on these trucks. I like the sound of duals just like anyone else, and the headers have to give some more power(though it's hard to feel it), but they physically just do not fit well on these trucks.
