Brake question please help me

Ok guys here we go. I have a 72 f100. The P.O did a few swaps and then sold the truck to me. So my master cylinder started leaking where it meets the booster. Everywhere I looked the brake lines are facing towards the engine. My lines face out towards the wheel wells. I noticed it is a little smaller also than the standart two chamber master cylinder. I dont know what year the swap was done from. Right now I have a 351w with power steering and power disk brakes. Any help on locating the proper master cylinder would be appreciated.

Do the lines from the M/C look like someone bent them around to make things work? If they do, I'd say buy some new lines and go with whatever M/C is listed for the truck. If they like like they haven't been messed with, then you might have a problem. Sometimes the factory will make a mid-year change that is suppossed to be for the following model year. They do some strange things. I've had to had to use parts for a 96 F250 when mine is a 97. Good luck.
I just took a look in one of my old manuals. The picture they show for a '73' M/C, shows the outlets on the wheelwell side of it. I know these pictures can sometimes be generic, but it's worth taking a look,

Definitely get the MC rated for your truck year and engine...brake lines should come out of the MC towards the wheel well/fender. Make sure you bench bleed the MC before you install it...you can do this on the bench or after you install it to the booster...attach the fluid fittings and hose that comes with the MC, route the tubing back into the reservoir(s), fill with fluid and slowly work the pedal until no air bubbles are seen. Install lines/fittings, bleed the system and Bob's yer uncle.
