I have a 3/12 build date. Maybe they were able to install the updated parts in mine. LOL I don't have that luck.

racing1320,
I hope your luck is better than mine. One of the times when I was at the dealer for a DEF fault, the service writer said I should be glad the a tree didn't fall on my truck due to heavy winds on our area. I told I wished a tree would have fallen on my truck so I could get rid of it. That is how frustrated I have been with my truck.

I would have said the same thing and I would have mentioned Lemon Law. Same problem three times - your out. I feel for you. I really don't want to be towing to an event and not make it or be late due to this problem.

Each state is different when it comes to lemon law. Our state is 4 different times. 1 of the times they say it doesn't count since we were waiting for national back ordered parts.

Sorry Drillbit,

You're right. Didn't mean to hijack the thread.

One thing I did notice which made me ask the salesman, When I stepped on it the boost gauge only went to 2 psi. Or is the (4) I see is for 40psi, and the 2 is actually 20psi. Is this because I was towing a load? My 04 would go up past 2 psi. I have a Bully Dog monitor to plug into the port to monitor everything. I will try that tomorrow. I would think 2psi, the truck would not move. I was a little baffled, if the truck has 800lbs of torque - where was it? LOL When I laid into it, I was not impressed with the power. I was thinking I was going to be thrown back. The bucket seats are like sitting your living room compared to my 2004.
I know this may be an idiot question, but did the dealer take it out of "Transport Mode". The trucks are typically delivered in transport mode and need to be switched over.

Excellent question. It was done. I saw that on the dash when I was test driving it. Then it was gone when I left. But, the check engine light was on when I was test driving it. The salesman said it went out after he fueled up. The fuel gauge was in the red when I drove it. I also noticed a X10 on the boost gauge. So the boost gauge is accurate, just not feeling the power like the 6.0. I am not beating on it with only 80 miles on it. I will be towing the trailer to Atlanta Ga. in 4 weeks. That is a 800 mile trip.
I also order a Cold air kit and the Edge Evo. I have the Bully Dog monitor for the 2004. I guess anything will be better then the 6.0.

If my trailer is 16,500 and the truck can handle 20,000lb+, I am not worried. I will have the hitch installed Monday to see how the rear suspension will handle the weight. I hope I will need air bags.

ride improvement alone is worth it...regardless of squat in my opinion. First time bag user and lifetime user moving forward.

Just adding to the wealth of knowledge:

I received this Exhaust Fluid System Failure message on my 2012 F250 3 days ago. My 250 is five weeks old with 1,700 miles. Build date was around February 15, 2012 (ordered truck on Jan 28th, 2012). Onboard vehicle report states DEF Fluid is OK and I have not gotten any DEF warning messages pertaining to low DEF volume. This morning I had to drive my kids to school with my 7.3 2003 Excursion as I left the $55,000 new F250 in the driveway. Not happy. <O</O
<O</O

Called the service manager this afternoon and explained the problem. His reply was “Oh Lordy”. Too funny. Hope it’s not a big problem. They gave me a car rental. <O</O
<O</O

Picked up my truck the next day and they did a FLASH of the PCM and TCM following a TSB 12-3-5 (Reprog PCM-REDUCT DOSING). Have driven only 125 miles so far but things look good. Interesting, my on board fuel calculator is reading in the 19 mpg range. Since new it’s usually in the 16 – 17 mpg (this is not hand calculated). I wonder if the reflash changed its fuel efficiency a bit (?).<O</O

Cool DEF warning

I have had my 2012 F350 for 3 weeks, this morning I got my first DEF warning that I have 50 miles to go until the truck will only do 50MPH. The truck has 925 miles on, the fluid level in the DEF tank according to the electronic display is ok. Ran the system check and it also showed the DEF warning. Ran the vehicle health report and sent to the sync my ride at ford and the report also showed A DEF system fault and said the fluid was contaminated and the vehicle needs to be brought in for service. After starting and stopping the truck a couple times the warning went away? I went and purchased some DEF fluid anyway as we had a about 100 mile drive to get home and thought it might help in case that warning came up again. I guess I will take it in for the dealer to have a look at, any input would be appreciated. I just got rid of my F350 with the 6.0 liter diesel and was hoping I would have better luck with this truck.

Stinks that you have the problem. I would be at the dealer so the problem is documented. This way you have a paper trail so if in the future you have problems.

I had a warm fuzzy feeling - NOT - my build is 10/11 - maybe I will be lucky.

DEF warning

Definately will be back at the dealer to document this problem, unfortunately I have too much experience documenting problems with my last truck with the 6.0 disel engine. Looks like my build date is 3/12, hopefully this is not an ongoing problem.
