my 93 F-250 , 5.8L is running rough. I washed the engine compartment to work on engine (change out water pump and rad. ) since then I have been running rough. I changed out the e.g.r.valve and sensor ( code #327 and 328 came up ) also changed out rotor and cap, plus fuel filter and air filters. Im still running rough. I just got back from the oil change place where they put some injector cleaner in the system (through the air intake system ) it seems to run alittle better but not much. I think I will change out the plugs and wires (maybe those got wet and damaged when I washed the engine compartment) . any other ideas? Im almost at a lost here
Yeah start with the plugs and wires then if it still runs rough, spray some carb cleaner around the intake manifold. If you notice a change, like RPM, when you spray you've found an intake gasket leak. These intakes sometimes blow in the middle (front to back) of the upper intake manifold. Check where the center bolt attaches (the one that's a bear to get to) and the end seals. If a new gasket is in order don't use the end seals, just use a 1/4" bead of RTV.
Hope this helps!
Check all your electrical connections. When you washed the motor, you may have gotten something wet and it just needs to be dried out. Unplug the electrical connectors and give them a shot of WD40 and plug them back in.
