Slight set back. I'm going to bull nose the ends before I press them in. Guess the bull nose prevents the ends from getting messed up when the wheels go on. I'll update when I get them back and in. Might be a week since I'm on vacation next week.

Studs bullnosed. I'll press them and post a pic later.

Good deal man. They are looking good. Might just have to get an axle and take the hubs to the machine shop at work.

Subscribing because I'm considering the same swap on my '75.

That's a nice clean job. Would That also be required for running an old style lug centric 8 on 6.5" wheel?

Most all aftermarket wheels the center bore is much larger and this modification is not needed.

Wheels fit and ran 4 lugs onto it.
I can finally ditch the huge rear caps for these.

Okay I mIght be thinking of it the wrong way, but could you do the same thing to a obs hub but make it a SD lug spacing?

What's to be gained by going that way though? Converting the SD hub to the OBS pattern allows you to run rear discs.

Changing just the obs hub means that you could run the super duty rims without having to put the super duty axle on right? Or would you have to do more than just that to get them on?

To go through that much trouble you could swap axles to SD front and back cheaper and easier then getting custom studs made and having hubs machined. And gain better braking in the process.
