How much to paint it?

Has anyone painted their X? I'm talking about decent quality, not Maaco. Thank you!

Sam

Are you talking about the price of materials for doing it yourself or having it professionally done?

Well, that's certainly much less than I was estimating! I was thinking 2-3 times that. I haven't priced any paint jobs since I was in Guam in the early 90's and then it was $6k to paint a small car!

My guy said he would not touch mine because his shop is not big enough. I got other problems now. I backed my work truck into my wife's car and done 4k damage. I wish it was mine. I could have got it painted!

I feel ya Joe. My wife backed into a light pole and messed up my bumper pretty good, plus she got the barn door some. Thankfully, they now cement the heck out of those poles just for that reason and the bumper did its job and the barn door didn't crack at all...just some scuffs. I can't get on her too much, I pulled into a parking spot and hit a pole that was guarding the A/C unit (although I couldn't see it over the hood).

The estimates I got were $6-7k+, and those would not have painted the top.

It varies by region a lot. Around here, you could do it for $3000, assuming that you dont need body work and are not changing colors.

I had a 97 dodge ram long bed redone from 2-tone to single and it was $3200. You can save money by removing non painted parts yourself. Weatherstrip, lights, lens, etc. Shop around and get estimates.

Where is "here"? You didn't provide your location on your profile

Yeah I figured, but then I noticed my location was blank and I didn't want to be "that guy" - It should be fixed now.

Did you get your backup lights squared away btw VQT?
