Winch on Back Rack

Would it be possible for me to put a winch onto my backrack on my f250. I dont want to have to put my winch onto the front and if I put it on the back hitch then I wouldnt be able to use my trailer so I thought on the backrack would be the best solution. I'm not gonna rip my entire backrack/bed/part of the body of my truck trying to pull my buddys truck out of the mud right?

I think you'd better have a strong back rack!

op, if you are talking about a headache rack you're nuts if you think it'll work without maiming and killing people/trucks.

A back rack is the brand of a specific headache rack. And short answer is not a snowball's chance in he11 is that thing remotely strong enough to mount a winch to and pull your buddy's stuck piece of junk with.

And the long answer is, if you are pulling a trailer, then you have no buisness trying to winch someone from a rear point on your truck. Mount the winch to a receiver mount, wire it with disconnects at the front and rear. Put in a good receiver setup up front then use your winch from either point when needed.

Possibly if you also built a jib arm attachment.

The only thing a winch on a bak rack might be good for is pulling an atv into the box.

If you want it into the box, install 5thwheel rails and mount the winch so it slides in for easy removal... Or something like that but since I can probably rip a back rack off by hand it WON'T work for what you want.

Or put a reciever on the front of the truck then you can swap front to back of need be

I think you should put the winch next to the flux capacitor.

A winch near the flux capacitor could possibly interrupt the space/time continuum.

Not if you had recently installed new muffler bearings.
