I am buying a 460 out of a 1987 ambulance and was wondering if I could use the motor mounts and towers from this. Should I take the torque converter also? What else should I take when I pull the motor out of the ambulance? Thanks a lot!
If I remember right the towers are different in a van chassis. Leave the converter with the tranny. They are a pair if someone wants to use the tranny. I wouldn't trust a used converter with my tranny.
Normally you need to find an identical vehicle (as close as possible) when you do a conversion so you can get all of those extra pieces and can see where they go. This saves a lot of fabrication and trips back to scrap yards.
If you are replacing a 460 then you have the pieces.
