Another ? this time technical

I wanted to put the new coil springs in my 89 F150 4X4 today and was wondering how I'd get the old ones out (one snapped) I couldn't break the nut loose so I grabbed the torches and heated it, but stuill no luck getting it loose. So I decided I'd cut it (advice from a 89 150 ford owner in town who had done his) and get the new bolt tommorow. I cut the nut and flipped up the bracket there (going to the sway bar) and there was another nut so looking at it I see that there is what appears to be a nut inside the axel housing so I figure cutting this nut will let me tap it through the top so I cut it and now it won't go through! Is this threaded? I looked in my friends chiltons manual for 80-86 and it says that it is a nut but on my truck it looks like part of the housing. In my 80-93 haynes it only showed a 2wheel drive break down. Any ideas on where to go now would be greatly appreciated I am thinking I screwed myself and will have to drill out the old bolt or stud. Thanks in advance, James

It's probably rusted to the i-beam, I don't think it's threaded the whole way. You can try to turn it from underneath. Get a breaker bar and do it, you can put about 500ft-lbs with a 4 ft bar.

Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .

Check out my Gallery for a look-see.

Bad news for all Ford truck owners part #388764 the stud that is used to hold the coils/radius arm/ axle assembly is no longer available I was wondering if anyone had a spare laying around that I might be able to get some measurements from to make my own I am guessing that it is a 5/8 and roughly 3-4 inches long but any dimensions would be of great help. Thanks again guys, James
