So i found this site, Speedometer Gear, Speedometer Gears, Ford, GM, Dodge 700R4
I don't know if it will help at all but you never know. I will keep searching. I do have a Chilton manual but it only goes to 86 and i didn't see any pictures for the speedo cable going to the gear.
yep, your speedo goes into your T-Case which hooks into a mechinical speedo gear, your 89 version of a vehicle speed sensor attaches on top of the speedometer cable.
From cluster to cable to vss which mounts to your transfer case, plastic speedometer gear that meshes with another gear inside your transfer case.
I know it goes to transfer case but I have searched the whole thing and there is nowhere for it to go...almost like someone put a different transfer case from a later year bronco that didn't have mechanical speedo ....if that is the case how do I get my speedometer to work????
I need to know if a speedo gear is supposed to jive with this transfer case and if so where does it go.....there is nowhere I can see that it goes...when I first crawled under there I found the speedo gear tucked up on the frame so something fishy is going on here..I am thinking someone put a later model transfer case on my 89bronco....of this is the case how the heck do I get my speedometer to work?????????????????????????
