OK i have a problem. The axle code says 13 which is a 2.73 (i think) open rear end. But this is not what is in my truck. Its got posi or limited slip rear end. All i know is when i gun it will leave 2 ruts or black marks. could osmeone tell me the possibilities of what it could be. The truck orginally came with a 3 speed. and its a 81
Well the "75" at the front of the second line is actually what's left of the ratio. The format is # ## for an open differential and #L## for a limited slip, so it says that axle is an open. I don't know the high ratios well enough to know if 2.73 is right or if it's 2.75, but I think it IS what the door code says. Maybe someone got in there & Lincoln-locked it. If you pick up both rear wheels and spin one with the transmission in Park or 2nd, what does the other tire do and how hard is it to spin the wheel?
sorry mod person dont know how to edit.
Well anyways there was enough dirt on it it took me 20 minutes to get what i had.
And well lets put it this way they dig about equally i left six in ruts in someones yard (slid out of driveway).
Could it be a 3 something. Cause if its a 2.75 im prolly going to hafta find me a new rear end cause i want 4.11s or 4.10s
I Found out that edit does work.
Well also when goin through the gears (got a 4 speed) i can get all 4 gears to spin in gravel and one of my buddies said they started to spin at the exact same time. Now only if i had 4.11s
well now. Couldnt of someone put lockers in it. Well anyways they are 2.73. Knowing the guy i got it from did. I got one major problem now. how am ig onna get 4.11 gears or something like that. Theres no way im gonna be able to do what i want with the truck with the 2.73 Its either 500 hp motor and a 4 speed or a stock motor 4x4. Any suggestions anyone
