I deal with some CAT construction equipment dealers in my job. CAT has Mobil "blend" and brand Mobil Delva into "CAT" oil for them. 8 out of 10 times it works great with no issues. Every once in a blue moon, a customer of theirs will come in with oil consumption issues. They have them switch from the CAT Mobil Delvac, to RotellaT. Everytime this solves the consumption issue. Nobody has an explanation of why the Mobil causes consumption issues, and they have no explanation of why the Rotella fixes it. Black magic I guess...

I hate to say it, but Wal-Mart is the best price I found.

In the future I will be buying from Ryder as they are $23 per but you must buy 6. I didn't want a bunch of stuff that I perhaps wouldn't use. We are certain this elf7405 fits? That thing is massive... In any case I got raped at the CASE IH store and will be adding 16 quarts for the oil change in 600 miles, and am pretty stoked.

Appreciate this post.
The ELF *will* fit. Look at the pics up top (esp posts 2 and 3 - post 3 is the ELF). Six filters is roughly 30k miles. Depends on your yearly average, but that's a couple of years you won't need to chase any down.

If for some reason you don't need them in the future, I think folks around here would happily take them from you.

Yep. And last time I looked the gallon jugs were cheaper per unit than the 2.5 and 5 gal containers. That's like beer being cheaper for two 6 packs than a 12. WTH

Yep, they are strange at wallyworld. I never even thought to look at the gallon jugs, but the 2.5 gal was 31.75 and the 5 gal pail was 73.00. You'd have to be really really bad at math to go and buy the 5 gal pail. Next time I better look at the gallon jugs!! May save another few bucks!

I'm getting 15w40, for $14.99 1 gallon, I can now buy it for $12.99 as they dropped the price. But its fine with my because I get fuel rewards for shopping there. Another place had synthetic for 19.99 a gallon, and delvo for 12.99.

I bought mine at the local CASE IH dealer. I got raped on it but why not use one of the above links that has them for $23, or less. It is the best option in my opinion, i should have done that and saved $20 some dollars but I was in a hurry.

I just ordered one from Ryder just to try it out, because I'm fixing to change my oil here before too long. If I like it and don't have problems, then I'll order more. I went to the link and it let me buy one at a time. I don't know what the deal is, because before it was trying to make me buy a six pack. Oh well, I'll let you guys know how it goes.

I honestly have no idea what's not to like about this filter.

Did you still get the good price? I guess shipping makes it $30 or so, huh?

It's seems more vulnerable. I'd hate to catch that thing on a stump or something and have to pull the truck home with a tractor. If I don't have problems during this interval, I'll continue to use them. Yeah, it turned out to be $30ish, which ain't bad for a trial run, I figure.

Agreed. It's got a great micron rating, holds more oil and is relatively cheap.

I wouldn't worry about catching it on anything unless you're doing some crazy four wheelin. In which case you're wheelin in the wrong truck.
