lol nice!!! I had my 03 tuned by Johnny Lightnin in PA. I ran a 13.6 with it pretty quick for a supercrew with street tires, 3 tv's PS2 and full 5.1 surround sound
Yea that's pretty quick! Did you have the dvds going? I would have been playing one of my five year old sons movies during the run.....people in the crowd would have got a kick out of a big truck going down the strip with cartoons playing in the headrest!
You have a very nice looking truck. Thanks for the pictures.
What kind of suspension do you have under it? With the tbird engine and those rims, I would guess it's not stock. I would vote to keep the engine.
Welcome from another Washington guy! But from the side where we don't have webbed feet. Nice truck, btw. If it was me, I'd keep the Y-block. They do sound cool and being as you can drive it, it'd be a shame to tear it all down.
Welcome, nice looking truck. I vote for the y block. What kind of suspension does it have? Stock? Looks like it's sitting pretty high. Like Havi said we have silly answers. Dean
yes, the suspension is stock for now. I think I am going to keep the y block... I may still tear it down and go through it Eventually. I need to look at the tranny too. I know that first gear is not a syncro but it is clunking when its in 1st gear so i may need to drop it out and look at what im workin with. I think i want to go with triple deuces. some headers etc etc etc . As for suspension, think im gonna do a 9" ford rear 4 link coil over and some ifs up front with disc, buuuuut that little by little down the road.. I want to do a frame off eventually just to clean up the frame maybe box it... where to start lol for right now I am just really happy to have the truck
I'm no expert at it but if you are thinking about boxing ur frame check out my tread (boxing my frame) that's what I'm doing to my 53 right now. It's been a lot of work and my first time taking on a complete restoring or what ever you would call what I'm doing to a truck.....mine was in terrible shape when I bought it, so I don't feel bad about how chopping it up! I'm a darksider......posted this from my phone so I don't know how this reply will turn out.lol
I also originally wanted a Ford 9" but done the research and found out I could get and explorer 8.8 rear end with disc brakes that was also the correct measurements for around $150.
Lol I already checked out ur boxing post. Looks awesome. I also saw that explorer rear end option somewhere and was considering it. Today I was looking at the T5 5spd tranny as a possible option. Looks like that would work without too many issues and it would move my shifter back towards the center as well as giving me a lot of options on gearing etc. mind filling up gotta start a notebook to keep it straight... Lots of good info
