3 Spd. Column/Automatic Transmission Shift Levers

Will a 67 3 speed column shift lever fit/work on a 70 automatic column? They look the same to me.

They may look the same, but looks can be deceiving.

The A/T & M/T shift levers look the same when installed in the shift collar, but you cannot see the end of these levers where they attach to the shift tubes.

Once you remove and compare them, you'll discover they aren't the same. Neither are the shift collars and shift tubes: A/T is specific to A/T, M/T is specific to M/T.
