front wheel hub removal

Ok so im trying to replace the rotors on my f350 and i hit a snag. I noticed two lock nuts on the axel shaft that keep the hub on. I got the special socket that removes the lock nut. but i cant get the other one off. is there a special socket for that one as well.

The locking washer, seen in your picture with all the holes in it, pull it out then you'll see the inner wheel bearing nut. Uses same socket.

Take note of that washer, has a tab fits in grove in spindle, has small holes in it for the small pin in the inner nut to line up too locking it in place.

If you don't get the little pin in one of those holes it will push back into the nut rendering it useless and the wheel bearings will come loose.

When you put the hub back on set the bearing preload with the inner nut, put the washer in with its tab in the grove fitting it over the pin at the same time. If it doesn't line up with the pin flip the washer over and or slightly loosen the nut to as so it does line up.

You got the outer nut off right? sure looks like you did.

Use couple screw drivers one from each "side" get that washer out. Or what I use is a snap ring pliers to remove it. Pick couple holes stick the tips of the srp in, grab it pull it straight out.
