My Dad's never leaked and he had it from 68 to 77 I believe. I think the reason the discontinued it was because they stopped with the big wagons and started with the hatch type rear gate on them.

Interesting, I figured since i read something about being able to open it with the window up it would have a leak somewhere.

I would love it.. 6'' of lift makes it a pain to load and unload in the back.

I'm also short, like 5'8'' .. (well, on a good day?). I have to use a ladder to work on the engine compartment, lately it's easier to use a step ladder to get in the back.

Probably the thing I hate most about my Bronco.. you know, you can't even climb on the tire to get into the bed from the side because of the top. The Bronco really, really needs a swing away door.

First person to do this, guarantee I will do it second! Just too afraid to try something custom like this on my daily driver

I would have to agree i wouldn't try it unless i got a backup way to fix it and be able to get to work. I am about 5'10" and i have to stand on my bumper to work on the engine unless i like my arms getting chopped up from the fan... Not my cup of tea. It can be scary when it is wet out and i go to stand on the bumper cause my feet slip. I would stand on the front tire but then the hood is in the way. I have a plastic milk crate i stand on sometimes and that has fallen over leaving me stranded on my stomach.. Kinda hurts. You know ErrorS maybe we need some really tall platform boots, kinda like stilts

Make one of those step things that hook over your front tire to stand on. I saw one that was adjustable for tire size & height. It was bolted together perforated angle with the step welded on so it couldn't dump you off.
And I want swing out gates for all three of my Broncos. That is the biggest pain in the rear!

If i could build anything i would be building all sorts of contraptions for getting to my engine but i don't have much creative skill like that.

I have seen full tilt foward front ends for all gen ford trucks, but I don't wanna be the test buyer

I'm an average height 6'1" but even I have issues working on some parts under the hood without a step/chunk of wood to stand on. The tailgate I just put it down and climb up onto it.

I would like an Excursion tailgate, window swings up out of the way and the tailgate opens like 2 doors. That way you could open the left side and not have to swing open the tailgate.

I love the fact that our window slides down into the tailgate. People are amazed by it all the time here. They always ask me if its custom.

Yeah, I just hope they all like my Springsteen and 80's rock music. On nice days I'll take the bikini top off and roll the window down, so I can be like the Wranglers guys and feel the wind blowing around me.
