Hi I'm currently restoring my dad's 79 f150 4x4 and I just removed the axle and leaf springs. I was hoping if someone could help me identify what kinda of springs they are. From the searching I have done my guess is that they are stock springs with an overload spring and I'm assuming that the block under the springs are used to give the truck a lift. If someone can confirm this or point me in the right direction it would greatly be appreciated.
The helpers are add-on....IIRC factory overload springs are captured under the same U-bolt plate as the stock springs and don't have those u-bolts out on the ends.

I have looked at some more pictures of overload springs and I see what your talking about. Am I wrong to assume that these function simliar to overload springs by providing support. I always thought the truck had a small lift but wasnt sure if it was a lift or the 35" tires. Could the helpers provide a small lift? Anyone else have any more information.
that short spring on the bottom is like a main overload, a lot of people stack those in for lifts but usually just blocks. i doubt those addon helpers would lift it much at all. another lift option is adjustable shackles
