This past weekend I installed my new 6637 kit and did a CCV mod on my Early 99 F350 4x4. In the process I inadvertantly broke the GREEN 1/8" vacuum line that runs from the air intake tube (pre turbo) to some kind of sensor that is mounted above and behind fuel filter. The same sensor has a RED vacuum line running to the wast gate actuator. Anyone know what this does?
I'm sure there is a write up on it but the red line is boosted pressure taken from the spider and it actually pushes pressure against the spring to allow the waste gate to open. Then the excess air is dumped into the intake through the green line. If you don't hook the green line up at least plug the hole in the intake tube. I honestly don't know what the purpose of the waste gate is on a stock truck with stock tunes! Did they put it there for when we actually start making over 20# of boost by modding our trucks.
