I have an 1992 e-250 with a 5.8l engine. I have been doing some external performance upgrades ..flowmaster muffler, accel ign..superchips performance chip..k&n air filter.. but i want to find out the original horsepower, torque rating, of this engine. also what engine is this. I know it's a 5.8 but is it a windsor, cleveland, or a newer version engine?? any input would be appreciated. thanks
The '92 F-series trucks 5.8L EFI V8 (Chilton) is rated 210 hp@3800 and 315 ft-lb@2800. The van probably is about the same.

Can you tell me about your performance upgrades especially the chip.
My van has a very sluggish E4OD tranny (shifts ok but shifts too early unless under hard accel.) I also tow about 5-6K. Do you need to run that Premium gas too?
I have 92 E150 w/5.8L (windsor)
(289/302/351W) Windsor ID: If it has a small bypass hose on the thermosat housing it's a windsor. A cleveland had no bypass and the stat faced straight up
I know what you mean about that E4OD. My motorhome has one and in the mountains I have to manually pull it down into gears as it won't hold the lower gear to the top of the hill. I put a Banks Transcommand module on mine and it firmed up the upshifts under load.
Is that transcommand adjustable or have a learning mode?
In my 89 Chrysler New Yorker it has a seperate CM for the 4 spd. auto trans. If I remove power from it I have to re-learn it. If I drive more aggresive than the previous owner then the shift points get reprogrammed. Kind of a nice feature.
