cruise control problem - 04 escape

Cruise control is out. I replaced all the fuses and the sensor (motorcraft part #sw-5956) on the brake pedal. The self diagnostic test gives me 3 flashes. Any suggestions?

If this is a standard there is also a switch on the clutch pedal.
Other than that I am of no help.

My Cruise would not engage on my 2006 and I finally figured that it was a switch on brake pedal which on mine had 2 almost identical switches and I got the right one figured out and If I recall you have to adjust switch as the plunger is not preset and once you install it you push on brake and that sets the correct length of the plunger to engage and disingage the cruise as I made that mistake initially and had to play with it a few times to get it right. If I recall one switch is green and one is blue . dont know if that helps but its all i got......
