Hi all. I've been a "lurker" in FTE for a few months; just joined recently.
I've been a (mostly) Ford guy since my first vehicle - a 1972 Courier. I know, technically not a Ford, but that's what it said on the tailgate.
I just bought my '07 F350 last August. My previous F350 was a '97 with a PSD. It had about 175K on it. Good truck, but it was starting squeek and rattle too much. I did find the market is great for those older trucks though; I bought it in 2008 for $8K and sold it last October for $10,500.
No mods on the '07 other than a high flow muffler and a "test pipe" in place of the cat. I'm a little leary of adding any performance enhancers since my 6.0 hasn't had the head stud upgrade yet. I had a diesel shop in Clackamas check for head gasket leaks and they said there is a leak. I took it to the dealer (the truck was still under factory warranty at the time) and they said there was no leak.
So until that get resolved, no tuners for me.
Take care everyone. I'm sure we'll be chatting soon!
You bought your '97 in the right time frame. With the oil price way up and the economy way down the price on trucks was low. It was bumming me out a bit since I just got my truck paid off at that point. Now it looks like the price is back up to where I bought it.
