Breaking tie rods
I have seen 2 tie rods snapped in half in the last year on a 97 & 99 Expedition. This has caught my attention since I drive a 98. Does anyone know of a recall or similar problems? My freind was backing up at the time and when it broke the wheels locked up. I other guy I was following was going down the road at approx. 25mph hit some train tracks,and it looked like his wheel on one side was falling off. I pulled over behind him to tell him what I had seen. He was able to drive home I helped him back into his driveway by kicking his wheel straight while he backed up...
