The problem is:
I parked it yesterday and today I went to crank it up it ran,but for only a few seconds. Then it died, like a it was running out of gas
I looked at the fuel filter & inside the carb and it was getting plenty of gas ,so much I kept cranking it over.
There was lots of fuel, so I stop doing that and let it sit.
It will still not RUN
The other time it did something like this it was that control box on the side of the fender that has the two plugs going into it..but now i dont know if i got a carb prob..or something electrical..oh yeah i run 600 edelbrock..
It's most likely that box. I don't know what it's called but I've always kept two under the hood there. When they go that's it you are done right there. Buy 1 and put it in and it will probably work fine. If it does buy another and bolt it right next to the new one for the next time this happens. If it ever goes bad again you just plug the other one in and carry on and replace the one that went bad.
Please use the term crank for starter operation, then start and run for engine operation.
Buy a Motorcraft unit and mount it with 1/4" spacers so cooling air can get to the back of it and you will probably never have a problem again. Those aftermarket modules are junk. I get my Motorcraft OEM modules in the junkyard and have them tested.
I know I am going to catch flack for this recommendation but it has saved me, so maybe it can save you too. Run a ground directly from your negative terminal to one of the screws that holds that ignition module to the fender. It's not supposed to work according to the wiring diragrams that I have, but it does! Give that a try and see if it helps your cause!
