I have a set of 35-12.5-15 tires I would llike to put on my F250 and I found some 15 x 10 8 hole wheels at summit for 67.00 ea. Just wondering if any tried this , will the wheels clear the disc brakes? Don't wanna order something that don't fit.
I just put some 315/75/16 mudders on my 91 f-250 and it has stock suspension. Not rub or anything. It actually look really nice. So your 35's should fit fine you might have to adjust the bumper but thats about it
I looked at the clearance between the 16" wheels and the disc brakes, looks to be about 1/2 in. or less. Sure glad I dint follow the impulse to order wheels the other night. They might fit some older trucks , but NOT our big brake Fords
I rePlied to another thread about this.
15" wheels won't fit over the front twin piston caliper of the ford.
Probably fit the back with drums but not front.
They don't fit.I tried to install a 15x10 8 bolt on my 88 f250 4x4 d44HD and the calipers are in the way.16 in. rims minimum. They physically fit,but they scrape the caliper.
I had just asked about this a couple days ago. They do fit depending on the back spacing of the wheel and how much your willing to grind. I can take some pics of my caliper brackets tomorrow and post them. I had to cut a little off the brake shield, and at most 1/4" off the caliper brackets. 16" wheels are most definitely the easier way to go though.
That's quite a bit of offset. I tried to get my 8lug 15" wheels onto my truck and no way were they fitting even with grinding. But mine didn't hang the tire out as much as yours does maybe. I got rid of them
Yeah my wheels stick the tire out a ton. I have 39.5x15 swamper tsl's on 15x10 wheels and they stick out the side of the truck probably 5" or more. I'm only running those wheels and tires for playing in the mud and trail riding so that doesn't bother me much. I have stock 16" wheels and tires for driving to work and such. No use destroying offroad tires on the road.
I don't recall the offset, but at least 6 1/2 " were tucked inside.Twin piston calipers,8600 lb GVW.Rears cleared, but the fronts barely turned with the truck in the air.Maybe different offsets might work.I'm wondering if there is a difference with GVW or caliper design.Light duty vs. heavy duty.
