1.7 roller rockers

Hi All, I would like to install the 1.7 cobra roller rockers on my 1995 F150 302. I was wondering who else has done this, if it helped performance, and if they will clear the stock rocker covers? Thanks. Brad.

They will help performance , not sure , you may need taller covers or need to make some clearence on some of the baffles.....

I'm pretty sure that the stock flat top steel valve cover will not clear roller rockers.
Then if you put taller valve covers then the intake will hit so that means you'll need an Intake spacer.
Snowball from there

Even the relatively short cast alum HO valve covers clear once the baffles are removed so there's a very good chance the tall truck steel covers will clear with the baffles in.

Mustang valve covers clear after some work. The truck ones are taller and thinner and steel, a ballpeen hammer will make the space you need.

I had to grind a hair on the inside of my mustang alum foxbody covers.
My flat top steel covers on my 94 mustang there was no way to help them clear.
Looking at the covers on my 5.8, rr won't fit in my opinion. RR were the first thing I wanted to do to my truck but there was more money that needed to be invested then I had at that time. I'm still hoping to do it soon though.

Depends on the rockers, my magnum rockers on my 347 cleared without any work. The SVO rockers on my blower engine needed nearly all of the edges worked on. The 94 cobra valve covers are pretty similar to the trucks and a hair shorter and they come with RR from the factory, i'm sure the truck ones will clear as long as the rockers arent too bulky. Magnum rockers will clear for sure, but they are spendy.

The tall covers like the summit welded covers will fit under the stock truck intake on the 302 , you could use a heat spacer between the upper and lower intake if you want more clearance....

Doubling the valve cover gasket will give enough clearance too, and come under the stock intake.

Wouldn't putting 2 gaskets on have more of a chance to leak?

Not really, i use the steel core gaskets and smooth out some silicone with my finger between the 2 gaskets. All my mustangs have this setup and none of them leak, valve cover spacers work but are more expensive.
