Carb selection 79 302
I got a 79 sitting the garage fully restored/modded & doesnt see much driving time.
It has a 600 Holley vac sec on it & the Holley just doesnt like to sit any extended time at all.(loading up/runs rough) The gas stays treated with a heavy dose of Sta-Bil & is started at least once a month.
Any thoughts or tips on a better carb selection?
I was kinda leaning towards a Carter but since the powerstroke bug has bitten me, the ol truck just doesnt get much time anymore
Thanks in Advance!!
Cheers
The Holley has always been a pain in my side as it seems to need continuous adjustment to run properly.
I was looking for other options as this is my last Holley & I really dread rebuilding it (again)
I was hoping or a more simple style of carb - something with less passages & not so many small orifices that can gum up
Is the Edelbrock just a Carter shined up?
price wise is one better than the other?
Thanks for the input, I much appreciate it.
Yes they are pretty much the same thing.
Regarding price, they are about the same new.
If you are looking to save some money you could pick up a Edelbrock 1406 off E-Baymotors.
