Can it get more furstrating

So there are older threads of mine where my truck puked oil from the top, etc.

Finally got it running after about a year of down time (the problem with having other vehicles) and have been making short runs to get her up to temp, etc.

Now it still leaks from the front - small drips after being run, coming right off of the steering stabilizer and crossmember

Now it leaks from the rear - drivers side, down the inspection plate, small thin drips, etc.

Not from valley, that is dry, looks more like from drivers side read head area, hard to pinpoint since it just gets fanned around and spread out from fan, etc.

Here is the beetch of it all, it is still so dirty down there it's hard to tell where the f it is coming from. Hard to tell if it is oil only, fuel/oil, etc.

I am going to take a good pressure washer to it at the undercarriage to get all the grime off to see if I can trace it.

This sucks sooooooo bad to get all this done and then see those drips.

Phuuuuuuuuudge

I fought that once for a month. It was my hpx on the driver head came loose. I bumped it during a turbo swap. Good luck.

The best thing you can do is to clean everything very good. I pull the TC inspection plate and spray cleaner up in there, I rinse it out very well. Use an air nozzle to get into areas after you clean and rinse it to remove the little stuff left over.

I use Oil Eater from Costco as my cleaner and it works well. Simple Green would work too.

You may find after cleaning it up you are only getting residual oil from before.

I would plan on doing a complete Fuel Bowl, HPOP, HPOP fittings/lines, and HPOP reservoir repair, complete with all o-rings, gaskets, seals, and sleeves. These are normal wear items on our vehicles, especially given their ages and mileage, and it's just going to happen eventually. The next step would be a similar effort on the turbo. I'm doing all this on each of my three 7.3's, one at a time, HPOP and Fuel Bowl first, then the turbos. I want to catch it before my oozings become more serious.

Bob at DieselOrings has all the kits necessary to complete these jobs.
