351 collector size?

351 collector size?
Hey all,
Whats the size of a stock manifold collector on the 351? I know Bassani makes their headers to fit onto the stock y pipe, but I wasnt sure if their y would fit on stock headers. Im almost positive the bassani Y has 2.5" collectors. Id like to throw that and my catback on before tackling the headers. Thanks in advance.

Stock collectors on the manifolds are 2"! They are tiny.
You do know it would be cheaper to get some Mustang 351W swap BBK shorties and have a custom y-pipe made...
Bassani stuff is nice and fits well, but I would rather save a few dollars and have something fabed up.

2", thats it? ICK. I was hoping they were at least 2.25. I already have the complete bassani system for my truck, I just wanted to get the Y and catback on this weekend. Save the headers for a week or so. Thanks for the reply. Guess I have to wait for the headers to go on.

They are laughably small.
I'd just wait and do it all at once. Save some time.
It will take a long time to get those manifolds off. Use lots of penetrant (like a whole can) and hose down every bolt.
I HIGHLY recommend using air tools. I did and it still took me about 4 hours to get my bricks...er...manifolds off. I have a 1/2 and 3/8 drive impact guns. Be sure to have many deep and shallow sockets, a few u-joints, and some extensions.
Use a sawsall/hacksaw and cut the pipe after the 2nd cat and by the tailpipe. That will be the easiest way to get the stock y-pipe and catback off.
Wear safety glasses too. Rust in your eye hurts!
