PF 2003 - Arrangements
I've agreed to try to put together some info regarding get-togethers that the crowd on this forum would like to have at PF 2003. If anybody is uncomfortable with that arrangement please feel free to let me and everyone else know right away. I have no delusions of grandeur and you're not gonna hurt my feelings.
Here are the suggested plans so far:
1st get-together
===============
Day: Thursday
Place: Smoky Mountain Brewery & Restaurant
Information: www.smoky-mtn-brewery.com/smb/index.htm
Time: 4:00 pm
2nd get-together
===============
Day: Saturday
Place: International House of Pancakes
Information: http://ihop.know-where.com/ihop/cgi/...00486&address=
Time: 7:00 am
These are the places and times based on the best information I have right now from other FTE'rs. Neither the places nor the times are set in stone. If anyone has good or bad info on the places or times listed please post your information here.
Once I can forge some sort of consensus I'll create a poll asking who is planning on attending each or both of the get-togethers.

I assume it is OK to bring minors into a Brew Pub in TN since they serve food? Mrs. 'fenders is pretty young you know. You can repeat that in front of her next month if you like.
It is possible that it could even be Friday night instead of Thursday. Have to find out when folks are going to arrive. We just threw out some ideas to get this started. Hopefully we can have some firm plans within a few days.
I'm staying at the comfort inn (Apple Valley) out toward Sevierville by the apple barn restaurant... much less crowded and more quiet there...
planning on the Sat a.m. get together for sure... and the Friday evening thing sounds good too if we can get something together

Since this is the place to air opinions I'm suggesting we add a Friday evening get-together due to the number of folks who can't make the Thursday eats. The third (and only other) restaurant I've seen mentioned is the Apple Barn Restaurant. Any other suggestions welcome and encouraged.
Pending other input, that puts the arrangements like this:

Looks good, I'll shut up for a while. You aren't going to make it perfect for everyone. John and others said Friday and Saturday are best days at PF so I imagine the current schedule is about as accomodating as it is going to get. Just as long as we all get to see John eat pancakes, I'm good with it.
there is another place... Used to be Allen Jacksons Grill but has changed now to the Heartlander (part of the Heartlander Hotel)
We've done breakfast there (A.J.s) in the past and they have a large open room.. I'lll check with them this week and see if they are obliging..
Applewood might ?? don't know about party size and that 4pm time would work better with them also I think... I've waited two hours for a meal there before and it was worth it...good home cooking

George, I appreciate you taking the bull by the horns to try to get us together.
The 4:00 pm times were chosen to "beat the rush" since most of these places won't take a reservation for a larger group. I have some concerns about Saturday morning since the store manager I spoke with at IHOP said they seat 100 but that morning is one of their busiest times. She suggested 7:00 am would be better than later in the morning. Originally she suggested 6:00 am (when they open) but I thought that might be a little to early for some folks.
Kenny was nice enough to make this a sticky message so it will stay on top of the forum... I'll make some calls tomorrow at work and give you the details asik.
6:00 am ??? man, this is my vacation.... that's a little early for me I've also got wife, daughter, s-i-l and grandson to get moving... lunch maybe be easier
this crowd gets started slowly in the a.m.john
