ok...I got this nasty greasy pos outta the truck...in attempting to install it the cursed gaskets won't stay put..now I've lost the front gasket somewhere around where it should go...I tried liquid gasket to stick gasket on the block...just slides off...any tips/tricks...appreciate any input...oh...a lil' tip from me...when removing the block heater element, slowly unscrew it until it starts leaking fluid...let it leak slowly into a catch pan...saves on a shower and less mess...
I just needed a spare pair of idle hands and eyes...I suppose I could have torn the front off the engine for better access....but with a buggered back I prefer to do things the shortest way...not always the easiest way tho....lol...thanks for the input!!!
I just did mine on my 95 and went back together pretty easy. I did it myself and when putting it back together I put the bolts in the oil cooler and put the gaskets on the cooler and it went back together good this way. Would help to have an extra set of hands though.
