Well....Not JUST Scndsin.....But I know he's a Sci-Fi egghead like me.....
Any kick-**** Sci-Fi stories to recommend?
I finished 2 of John Ringo's 3 books dealing with an alien first contact, and the ensuing wars.......'Live Free or Die', and 'Citadel'.......(haven't read the 3rd one yet). FANTASTIC books! All sorts of topics covered there! I'm wondering if anyone else has read them (don't tell me about the 3rd book!).
Or any other Sci-Fi stuff you'd like to discuss.....
The storyline takes place during the Great Galactic War - 3,000 years before the movies and 300 years after the Knights of The Old Republic games. Lots of Sith and Jedi running around (along with various other classes)...
John Ringo is good, no arguement there. If you like him I'd suggest also taking a look at John Scalzi (Old Man's War, Ghost Brigades, Last Colony , etc...).
- Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card
- Armor - John Steakley
pretty much anything by David Drake (Hammers Slammers), David Weber (Honor Harrington), Keith Laumer (the Bolo books), or Fred Saberhagen (Berserkers).
I could keep going... and I suspect that I probably will be back in here later with more suggestions but, that should be good enough for the time being.
Classic book. Card tends to 'adultize' children (as do other Sci-Fi writers......), but that's a great book.

Weber's 'Apocalypse Troll' was fantastic....Wish he'd do a prequel....or a Part II......I've read other stuff where he'd collaborated with others.....
Mil Sci-Fi is great. Love the Pournelle/Niven 'Falkensberg Legion' series of books/novelettes.....

I use Audio books in the truck and went through the Ender Saga last summer. I would be eager to get a tow as I could get back in the truck and hear the next thing to happen.
