vent controls up front

vent controls up front
OK, if I remember correctly the front vent locations, ie feet, face or windshield is controlled by vacuum, is that correct?
my controls seem to go only to the dash and I am not sure how long it has been this way as when i am driving to and from work that is pretty much the only place i have it set too. The only work I have done that is related to the vacuum is the auto hub replacement and I totally forgot to plug them up, still plugged into the post, would not caping the lines to the removed auto hubs cause a loss of vacuum to my vent select?
