Check out Python, Viper, and a few others under the DEI umbrella. They all work great and are trouble free....
The DEI umbrella brands get my vote.
I have a Viper on mine and my son had a Clifford on his and both worked flawlessly.

awesome! Thanks, i think i am going to get one. Do yall think that this one would be alright? It is a cheaper one but it seams like it would still work good. Or do you think I should get a nicer one?

Here is the link.

I got one from eBay and it was 45$ shipped I think.
It was remote start with keyless entry, AND a power door lock kit for my non power lock doors.
While the 500' range isn't much, the truck is started by the tIme I get there.
I'd lOok for one with more range. It's well worth it in the end.

500' or so.
If I can see the truck it will start... But it won't go through a wall at work past 500' which sucks.

Thanks for the warning. I'm going to try to find one that is a longer distance so that it will be able to go through walls and farther like you said.

Thanks for all the responses.

If you go with one of the units under the DEI umbrella most have a 1 mile range on them. Of you go with a unit like the Viper 5901, 5902 or 5904 then you can add the smartstart box as an add on and have worlwide range over your smart phone. Just a thought. I purchased the 5901 but have not installed it yet. I have not decided if I want to wait to get the smartstart module or not. They average in the $200 range on ebay but you can buy them at places like Bestbuy installed for around $500.

Let us know how it goes

Compustar. Works great,440$ installed with lifetime free main and if I want it on another vehicle they switch it over free. Probably just for the store I went to,but worth checking into. It will start where ever, not sure of the range, but its one of the better ones. They start at 350$ here.

Do you need your FORD OEM Keyless entry remote to program the remote starter to work with your power door locks? I bought my truck used and it did not come with the remote's. Instead of paying Ford $100 to get new ones I'd rather spend more and get a remote starter/alarm in the deal, but want to make sure I don't need the OEM remote first.

I like the 2 way remotes, it tells me when my truck starts, the temp in the truck,if its locked or unlocked, and goes crazy if the alarm is set off..The range is 1 mile..Its the compustar

But OH SO worth it!

I was lucky with mine, I was an Operations Manager at Circuit City and got mine on the employee discount offer through DEI. Got a screaming deal on the install too
