Depends on what all you're thinking. Would a 466 fit into a larger series truck? Sure. Will it bolt up to a ZF5 or E4OD? I understand they are different there, as guys have asked about going the other way (using a DT466 5 speed behind an IDI), and generally it seems they won't bolt up.
Dropping that into a Super Duty frame gives some other issues, the cross members on the Super duties at the front are close to, or the same as the F250/350, so oil pan clearance, motor mounts and steering clearance may be issues. If you are wanting 4x4, then you are now looking at a 4wd conversion on a superduty, which is another whole new battle. And on a superduty the 4x4 flange for the transfer case is already in use for the parking brake, so there are some more issues there.
Lay out some more ideas of what you have in mind, and we can figure out a lot better at what kind of hurdles are in the track for the project.

no it would be divorced of course. even the 4x4 fmedium duty trucks from factory or wherever come with divorced rockwell transfer cases rockwell 221 or 223. a dt466 can tranny can be used for sure t444 same as powerstroke came with fuller transmissions and uses sae 2 bellhousing. Mainly im wondering if the medium duty cab will make it easy all the dimesnions are basically same as 7.3 except for 10" in length.
see the hump? that where that extra ten inches will go. I think this would work . heck the hump could probably be modified to unbolt for access to engine. A dana super 60 up front .

So then it should be do-able. Biggest thing I can see is that you will want some length....no regular cab, short box here, or bronco body, as you'll need some length to get everything in the driveline.
Basically you would be building an older version of the 'big' pickups that are around now. Not sure if it would be worth 20K, but would certainly be different and fun.

The bell on medium duty trucks are round, sized in what is called SAE bells, while the light duty bells are Ford specific. The adapter plate on the back of the motor is what dictates what bells you can hook up. From the factory there is an adapter plate that goes from the block to the trans. The 6.9 and 7.3 IDI and Powerstroke motors both come in light and medium duty applications. However, it isn't like in the gas motors where the bell bolts up to the motor direct, they swap out the adapter plates for the different bell styles.
I did know someone that had put a DT466 and 9 speed in an F350, had to hack up the firewall to have a doghouse like you showed in the pic. His was a 2wd.
