I have a '70 custom which I intend doing a cleveland conversion on, I have a 351c engine ready to bolt on, and I'm wandering whether the original box shall bolt straight on... do I need to change the flywheel or do any other mods, or is it all straight forward 'ford to ford' one hour and drive away type thing....
The 351C is part of the 335 engine family, similar to the 351M or 400. It was never offered in the 1967-1972 pickups.
You didn't say what the current engine is, but regardless of whether it is the 300 I-6, 302, 360, or 390 you will need to change at a minimum your bell housing and flywheel to mate the 351, and likely your motor mounts as well.
The transmission itself should be fine though, the NP435 bolted behind all these didn't change.
